Wayfaring Tree

Viburnum lantana

A deciduous tree reaching 6 metres in height with greyish hairy twigs. The 4-14cm leaves are oval in shape and feel rough on both sides. They have toothed edges and hairy undersides. The white flowers form in clusters of up to 10cm across at the end of a twig. Berries form in early Autumn and turn from red to black. They are oval in shape and slightly flattened.
