The Leat Project
Introduction

|
 |
The Leat
Project restored a man-made water channel or leat, at the Woodland Education Centre which
is in south-west England. The Leat which was first constructed in victorian times,
prevents stormwater, silt and pollution from entering many of the Centre's aquatic
habitats. It does this by carrying excess water along the eastern side of the Centre's
steep wooded valley. |

The Wetland Area |
This habitat along with an area of marsh, a
pond and a small lake are now protected by the restored leat. |
