www.londons-swifts.org.uk London-based organisation devoted to the conservation and creation of nesting sites for swifts. Many buildings constructed after 1944 are not suitable. The work involves encouraging builders, developers, local authorities and householders to incorporate nesting opportunities for swifts.  The website provides lots of information as well as sample education projects suitable for schools and individuals.

They collect information about their local environment and share it with the world via the database on the Internet. To date 104 countries are involved in GLOBE and over 400 UK schools, clubs and centres. The data collected by GLOBE students is used by environmental scientists in their research so the children must follow a strict set of scientific protocols to maintain the validity of the data.
