Nest.jpg (72964 bytes)

A wide variety of birds nest at The Woodland Education Centre. Song birds include Blackcaps, Long tailed Tits, Blue tits, Warblers, occasionally Pied Flycatchers and of course the commoner birds such as Robins, Thrushes, Blackbirds, Wrens, Grey Wagtails and Chaffinches. The Woodlands also provide nesting sites for Green, Greater and Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers. Tree Creepers and Nuthatches also nest.  The varied wetland habitats encourage Kingfishers, Mallard Ducks, Moorhens and Water Rail. Birds of prey include Tawny Owl, Buzzard and Sparrowhawk.
