Offwell Wetland Survey

Area C2 - Stagnant Standing Water Zone

This area is in the north west of the wetland, adjacent to the stream entrance (diagram). There is permanent stagnant standing water here. It is only a few centimetres deep. Plants characteristic of this area are rushes, Lesser Spearwort, grasses and Broad-leaved Pondweed.

These species lists are not exhaustive. They represent  initial collections and identifications carried out in early autumn. Many species of flowering plants may already have flowered and died back at this time and would therefore have been missed. These lists will be updated periodically.
