Results and Discussion

A total of 24 species were recorded on the site (Table 1). Only 12 of these species were found in the areas covered by rhododendron (Table 1). Twenty two species were found in Section 3. Of these, 9 were species which must have colonized the area after clearance of the rhododendron (Table 1). Two years of regeneration has therefore resulted in a 75% increase in species diversity.  The location of each section is given in Fig 2.
